I thought all the First Forecast Mornings cast was great. Made me want to turn on the TV in the mornings.
Now they are gone, I don't know why they switched the shows around but I don't get them anymore. I don't even turn on channel 62 in the mornings anymore.

My husband and I were in South America, where I conducted research for my next book on tango and modernization in the Rio de la Plata. When we returned to South Bend and did not see Rick Mecklenburg as the Chief Meteorologist at WSBT we felt extremely sad. Mr. Mecklenburg has a great personality and, of course, is an outstanding meteorologist. He was one of the leading figures of WSBT.

Really enjoyed having your high quality of reporting the news Diana, plus representing the community in Dancing with the Stars!! My family was able to see you in person that year..my grandson was the child that represented Michaels Place, he had last his mother. I wish I'd at least have seen your last day, and would hope the station did some sort of remembrance!! In 1998, when I first moved here, I remember the round faced young woman, my how you grew up into a lovely woman. It will be our loss..however, I hope you do well at your new position!! Heritage's greed is ridiculous considering the same programming is free via antenna. CBS is banned from my home and will remain so (we did retain our antenna connection for a couple of sets).

Rick gave grace, charm and humor to wsbt - and his sudden and unexplained departure is a comment on the sorry hypocrisy of the studio management. I wish him well in a new and brighter future.

I'm really glad to see that he is still in good shape. It's a shame whatever happened to him at wsbt. I hope he regains another successful career.
